Service History

The Trawler is a very special ship with a duty allocated to almost every cubic foot of her internal volume. Design is therefore a matter calling for care as well as skill. It can be truthfully said that it takes every bit as long to design a successful modern trawler as to build one.

Hildina was designed to work economically the nearly exhausted fishing ground off the British Isles. The clipper plate stem, the well flared bow, the full sheer line cruiser stern are designed to make her “Sea Kindly” and a good fishing platform. Her fine lines enable her to hold to the fishing grounds in heavy weather, and make rapid trips to market.
