Comedian Rodney Dangerfield plays wealthy business man, Montey Peterson, who travels to Utah hoping to open a ski resort after his latest marriage ends in divorce. He competes against an 'evil' banker, Preston Gates, hoping to snatch land from the defaulting farmers to gain control for mob investors who want to build a casino. After winning a land auction Montey goes to a restaurant with his friend who explains the polygamous traditions of the area, much to the interest of Montey. Montey is required to join the church to purchase the land and after he agrees he is informed that the land he has bought includes the former owner's wives which upsets Montey greatly until he gets a look at his three beautiful wives (Judy Tylor, Kate Luyben, and Angelika Baran). Montey marries the three woman and he is excited until he discovers how difficult it is to 'please' all three of his young amorous wives and how terrible their cooking is. He soon develops a few different hilarious methods to care for all of his wives in a fair and even manner. He learns that one of his wives is the twin sister of one of the wives of the evil banker Gates, making Gates his brother-in-law. Gates expresses his extreme distaste for Montey. After another resident passes away Gates attempts to take control of the deceased owner's land along with his two wives. When Montey goes to offer his condolences he ends up promising to marry the deceased man's wives (Emmanuelle Vaugier and Anita Brown) to protect them from eviction, and ends up with several more acres of land and two more wives who are vastly greater cooks then his current wives..
