Thermopylae was an extreme composite clipper ship built in 1868 by Walter Hood & Co of Aberdeen, to the design of Bernard Weymouth of London.
The Thermopylae Clipper ships represented the ultimate in sailing ship design and are considered to be the most beautiful ships ever constructed. These cargo carrying vessels were designed for speed and are often called the “Greyhounds of the Sea “. The Thermopyale was undoubtedly known for the best Tea clipper ships.
